Note from the Staff Parish Relations Committee
The Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee requests anyone that would like to make a Christmas love offering to our staff this year to please place it in the offering plate and designate it “Staff Love Offering.” This gives us each an opportunity to recognize our wonderful staff and thank them for all they do throughout the year. The last day to donate is Sunday, December 24.

Stained Glass Windows Update
To date, we have received $13,670 in donations toward our need of $15,000 for the repair of our stained glass windows! This includes the $5000 pledged from Salem’s Willing Workers.
Thanks to everyone who has donated so far! If you would like to help us reach the end, please put your donation in an offering envelope and mark it for “stained glass repair.” Thanks for helping us preserve Salem’s history.

You Are Invited to the Annual Christmas Open House at the Heermans Home
The Reverends Jan and Elinor Heermans cordially invite you to their annual open house on Saturday, December 23. Drop in anytime from 10am – 8pm at 195 Austin Lane, Stanley, for food and fellowship and to see their amazing collection of nativities from around the world!

Bah! Humbug!
“Bah! Humbug!” These two words are the trademark phrase of the hard-nosed, cold-hearted, tight-fisted, grouchy old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, in Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. It is the story of Scrooge’s startling encounter with a series of ghosts on Christmas Eve. The story barely covers 24 hours of Scrooge’s life, but that is enough time for him to be transformed and redeemed. Most of us have a little bit of “Scrooge” on the inside that could use some transformation. So join us this Christmas season at Salem UMC as we discover anew the healing power of God’s grace in Jesus Christ!
