Lunch & Learn Begins February 15
This series is designed to meet the needs of adults in our community on a variety of issues including health, caregiving, technology and more.

Our first Lunch & Learn will feature Annette Demeny, Aging Program Specialist, Health Promotion with Centralina Area Agency on Aging. Annette will speak about falls prevention (A Matter of Balance) and Building Better Caregivers. Both of these workshops will be offered in our community in the coming months, and this will be a great time to learn more about the programs and resources offered in our region to assist with these areas of interest.

Registration is helpful but not required and may be done by emailing Jenny Reilly at jennysalem@bellsouth.net or calling 704-483-5055.

Doors open at 11:30 for lunch and conversation (bring your own lunch and we will provide drinks and desserts) followed by our speaker at 12:15. We will meet in the Christian life center.

Pastor David’s Newest Sermon Series – Why?
Pastor David is beginning a new sermon series called “Why?” Based on a book by best-selling author and Methodist minister Adam Hamilton, David will cover topics in this sermon series such as “Why is there suffering?” and “Why do my prayers seem to go unanswered?”

Wilderness Trail 2018 Registration is Open
This is open to youth, college students and adults. The deposit of $100 is due to Jenny by January 28. Total cost is $315. For more information about this backpacking ministry, please see information on the bulletin board outside the youth room.

Youth to Attend Winter Jam Concert on February 24
The youth group will be attending the Winter Jam concert on February 24, followed by a lock-in at the church. We should return to Salem around midnight. Concert admission is $15, and youth will need money for fast food on the way.

We will leave Salem at 1:00 pm. If you plan on staying for the lock-in, please bring sleeping bags at this time and we will lock them in the Christian life center. Breakfast will be served on Sunday morning. Please plan to pick up your youth by 8:00 am on Sunday, February 25.

Please let Jenny Reilly or Sonya Houser know if you will be attending so we can plan our transportation, and don’t forget to bring a friend!
