Salem at the Park
Back by popular demand, we have reserved the pavilion at Beatties Ford Park off Unity Church Road. Check your email or Facebook for the link to the sign up genius.
Our first event will be Sunday, July 29. We need some folks who are willing to help coordinate this as well as someone to man (and maybe even bring) the grill. Everyone will need to bring a side so be looking for the Sign-Up Genius link or see Jenny for more information. Lots of games and just spending time with one another and inviting the people at the park to join us in the fun will be part of our afternoon together. We can’t wait to see you there! Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss out!

Resource Center in Mission Hall
There is a wide selection of free resources available in the mission hall including various books, devotionals, Bibles and Care Notes. Please take one for yourself or a friend! They are free, and they are yours to keep or share.
Fall Funtimers Trip
The Funtimers will be traveling to Wytheville, VA, on Thursday, October 11, to enjoy lunch and theatre at Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre. The production is entitled “Country Roads.” The price is $38.00 per person. This includes a fantastic (fixed menu) lunch and the performance. We will leave the church at 10:00 am as it will take approximately 2 hours to get there. A sign-up sheet is located in the mission hall, and we ask that if you are interested please go ahead and sign up so we can begin making arrangements.
Payment will be due before September 11, made out to Salem United Methodist Church and given to Jenny Reilly. This price does not include a tip for your server. For questions, contact Sandy Race at 704-892-8893.
Salem’s Annual Bazaar & BBQ is October 13
The annual bazaar and Port-a-Pit BBQ will be October 13. The bazaar will be 8am-4pm, and the BBQ will be 11am-4pm. Charlie Nartker will head up the BBQ, and Diane Keeney will fill in for Kelly Parker and Kathy Edmondson on the bazaar.
Direct bazaar questions to Diane at 704-516-9379. We will need baked goods, canned goods from your garden and homemade crafts, so be working on them over the summer!
The menu for the BBQ will again be 1/2 BBQ chicken, baked beans, slaw, roll and drinks (for those dining in), and desserts will be available for a donation.
Look for more information in the July issue of Salem Matters, and opportunities to help will be listed in the mission hall soon. We need lots of helpers to make these two events a success!
