Missions

Serving God Together

Salem has a passion for serving God’s world and reaching out beyond our church walls.

Local Missions include East Lincoln Christian Ministry, Hesed House of Hope, Amy’s House, and a backpack ministry that provides food for local school students.

Missions beyond our local community have included making flood buckets and health kits for disaster response, collecting school supplies for children’s homes, financial donations for global disasters, prayer and financial support for missionaries, and building and mission teams around the country and the world.

Answering the call to “Go” and “make disciples of all the world” (Matthew 28:19), in the last 10 years teams have been to Florida, Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, New Orleans, New York CIty, Morehead City, rural NC, Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Missouri, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Belize.

For more information any of these missions or collections for local ministries be sure to stop by the mission hall or contact us using the form below.

Community Blessing Box

Take what you need. Give what you can.

The idea for this mini-pantry is “Take what you need and give what you can” as we provide local food support. Have a little extra? Feel free to give! Need something with no judgment and no questions asked? Take what you need!

This Blessing Box and the Backpack Ministry, which feeds local school children, are completely supported by neighbors like you. Feel free to drop food at the Blessing Box or bring it to the red bin temporarily located at the office entrance as we get stocked up. Click the button below to link to the Amazon wishlist that can be shipped directly to the church.

Backpack Ministry

Feeding local students.

This ministry provides additional food support for local students to get through the weekend and school breaks. Backpacks are sent home weekly throughout the school year. Donations needed include peanut butter, jelly, poptarts, pasta, rice, canned goods of veggies and fruit, soup, granola bars, and other child-friendly choices.

Financial donations for both food ministries may be sent to Salem marked for Food Ministry.

The Amazon link also supports food for both ministries.
